Live music for events handmade · honest · personal

I’m Rasmus Schumacher. I’ve been working as a singer-songwriter, busker and live musician for more than 20 years. Some of the songs I play have been with me from the very beginning – my own songs as well as well-known and lesser-known covers.

I play private parties, corporate events, festivals and town celebrations – just voice, guitar and no safety net. Sometimes it’s three songs, sometimes a full evening. What matters to me is that the music fits the occasion and the people.

What you hear is created in the moment: voice, guitar and a direct connection with the audience. The same attitude shapes my YouTube project “First Take [Uncut]”.

No two gigs are the same.

What matters is what fits the occasion and the role the music should play.

Private celebrations

At weddings, birthdays and garden parties, I can play for one special moment or take care of a larger part of the day.

Corporate events

At a company event, the music is a proper part of the programme. The length and place in the schedule can be planned to fit the evening.

Festivals

At festivals I play my own songs and covers the way the repertoire has grown: direct, handmade and without too much fuss.

Town festivals

At town festivals, that works on a small stage just as well as in front of a bigger crowd – with voice, guitar and plenty of live experience.

Singer-Songwriter

Acoustic pop and folk with Britpop influences

My repertoire runs from Oasis and Coldplay through Simon & Garfunkel and Cat Stevens to Damien Rice, Glen Hansard and, of course, my own songs.

I can even play one and a half songs in German. Every now and then, I actually do.

The set includes quieter songs as well as songs that push forward – usually not as background music, but as a proper performance.

What matters for the gig

Set length · sound · space

Set length

Anything from three songs to 180 minutes plus encores is possible. I can play one continuous set or split it up with breaks – whatever suits the event best.

Sound

For events of up to around 300 people, I bring my own equipment. For larger events, I need a suitable PA and a sound engineer on site. All I need is a power socket.

Space and outdoor shows

I don’t need much space. Anything from 2 m² works. For outdoor performances, there should be some shelter in case of rain – a small gazebo is enough.

International bookings are also possible on a case-by-case basis. We can simply check in advance whether the distance, date and setup work.

Frequently asked questions

The short version

Do you perform solo or with a band?

I perform solo with voice and guitar.

Is the performance meant as background music?

Usually not. The music is a proper part of the programme and is meant to be listened to.

Can the set length be adjusted?

Yes. Anything from three songs to 180 minutes plus encores, as one set or with breaks.

What needs to be provided on site?

For up to around 300 people, I bring my equipment including the PA; I only need a power socket. Outdoor shows also need rainproof cover. For larger events, a suitable PA and a sound engineer must be provided.

Could my music work for your event?

Just drop me a line

If you can picture my music at your event, send me a few basics: the occasion, location, date and roughly how long you would like me to play. Then we can see if it’s a good fit.
